Introduction of Saturn - The Lord with the ring.
Introduction of Saturn - The Lord with the ring.
So, just wanted to make this post about Saturn and clarify lots of misconception about it. As I have found and learnt over the years from my own life and study about Astrology, Saturn & Jupiter have the biggest say in any major event of our life. In another post, I described how Saturn becomes the Big Boss of all the other planets.
Saturn is the original ruler of 10th house of career and 11th house of earnings in our horoscope. So, Saturn holds the highest say in matters of our career and income. Now, why is Saturn always connected with hardships?
We love to be in our own dream world, we don't want to see reality of things. We just want to ignore it as long as possible. At least 90% of us are like that. And Saturn brings reality in our life. It tells us on face that Dude, you were stupid till now, its time now to be smart and live in reality. And we feel terrible that our dream world is destroyed by Saturn, so it assumes a negative image in our thought process.
Saturn and Jupiter both are teachers, but Jupiter is a motherly teacher who teaches with all the emotions whereas Saturn is a teacher with a stick who wants to take a test also after giving lesson, just to make sure we learnt it perfectly. Saturn gives lessons of reality in life.
Saturn represents delay, restrictions, limitations and boundaries in our life. Wherever Saturn is placed in our horoscope and whichever house it is ruling (Saturn rules over Capricorn and Aquarius), things related with that house comes in our life with considerable delay (if not aspected by Jupiter) because Saturn wants to teach us a lesson of patience. In reality, we didn't treat the same things too well in our past life or we misused those things, so Saturn is delaying these things so that we know their value. Like, if someone has Saturn in 10th house of Career (without any positive aspect of Jupiter or Saturn being in Libra) then his career and authority at workplace will be delayed till mid 30s because this guy misused his authority in his last life, so Saturn wants to show him the importance of having an authority by not giving him authority. Why mid 30s? Because every planet has a maturity age and Saturn's maturity age is 36 years. After attaining majority age, every planets starts behaving favourably.
As said by Alyssa Sharpe, Saturn is also our strict father putting restrictions and limitations in our actions and choices. You want to have it but you cant have it. In Alyssa's words - He is like that father who is standing behind a kid and saying - "Dude, you cant go to party tonight, because you have classes tomorrow morning". So, Saturn is no doubt putting restrictions but those restrictions are for our own benefit.
As reality is for our own benefit rather than being in illusion.
And Saturn causes delay, the best example is this post, which I thought to make yesterday but was able to make it today with one day delay. Saturn has delayed this post too.
Generational Planet - By this term I mean that when Saturn moves into any sign, it stays there for about 2.5 years and in some cases the time goes up to 3 years. So, people born within this 2.5 years will be a same Saturn generation. Let me clarify more. So, recently Saturn moved into Scorpio on November 2nd. Before that, it was in Libra for last 3 years. So, kids born in last 3 years (upto 2nd November 2014) will have same Saturn in Libra position in their horoscope and hence they are Saturn in Libra generation. Kids now taking birth, after November 2nd, 2014 to 26th January, 2017, will be Saturn in Scorpio generation, as Saturn is in Scorpio in this time period.
So, what does it mean if I am a Saturn in Libra or Saturn in Scorpio generation. Well, here comes the 2nd part of post, the lessons of life.
So, wherever Saturn is in your horoscope, sign or house, you have your life lessons to learn there. So, if I am born with Saturn in Aries then I have my lessons of life in letting go of Ego, as Aries is a sign which represents ego. If I am born with Saturn in Libra, then I have my lessons in relationships, as Libra is a sign representing relationships.
Likewise, if Saturn is in 2nd house then I will learn my lessons of life through my family, as 2nd house is house of family. If I have Saturn in 4th house then I will learn my lessons through my mother or home, as 4th house is house of mother and home.
Basic nature of Saturn remains the same everywhere, teaching lessons of life and making us pure.
Let's see a few more things Saturn represents -
1. Saturn represents limitation, restrictions and our boundaries in life.
2. Saturn is the Lord of Justice and its various time periods (Sade Sati, Dhaiya, Saturn Return, Mahadasha, Antardasha) throws lots of challenges towards us, so that Saturn can do Justice in the end by looking at how we dealt with those challenges.
3. Saturn represents law and order, discipline, structure and stability.
4. Saturn represents maturity and old age people.
5. Saturn represents delay, for the simple reason that it is the slowest moving planet. But important thing is that "Saturn only delays, it never denies".
6. Saturn represents diseases and taking care of unhealthy people.
7. Saturn is first of the Karmic Backlog planets, the other two being Rahu and Ketu. It means that in whichever house Saturn is placed in horoscope, we didn't treat things related with that house properly in our last life and in this life Saturn wants us to put best effort to achieve those things, so that we realise true value of those things in this life.
8. Saturn is our life lessons, wherever (in whichever house) Saturn is placed, we have our lessons of life there (with things related with that house).
9. Saturn represents laziness and hard-work both. Now, how is this possible?? So, 1st of all, it makes us lazy and when we fail in life because of laziness, we introspect and end-up in realizing the value of hard-work and that's how we become hard-working.
10. Saturn represents repetitive jobs. It means going at your workplace daily and doing the same work repeatedly for whole life. Like in a factory, someone has a job of pouring oil inside machines for whole day. That guy will do the same job whole day.
Nature - Nature of Saturn is malefic in short vision, but if we see our long term or even life long benefits, it is the most benefic planet even more than Jupiter because whatever Saturn gives or takes away in life, it does so while giving a life-lesson for future.
Maturity Age - Maturity age of Saturn in 36 years.
