Counterparts Series - Gemini/Sagittarius axis

Counterparts Series - Gemini/Sagittarius axis

Now, from the series of articles on Zodiac Signs Counterparts, let’s look at how Gemini and Sagittarius Zodiac Signs complete or supplement each other.

Here is important information about this combination –

Gemini - Gemini is the 3rd sign of zodiac belt, so it represents many things related with 3rd house of horoscope like, Communication Skills (either written, oral or even by sign language), Marketing, Business etc. It is a sign basically related with communications and business ideas. Gemini is divided into 2 and half nakshatra of Mrigashira, Ardra and Punarvasu. Gemini's lord is Mercury, which is significator of Communications.

Sagittarius - Sagittarius is the 9th sign of Zodiac Belt, hence it represents many things related with the 9th house of horoscope like Religion, Knowledge, Wisdom, Higher Learnings, Gurus, Teachings from your Father etc. Besides it also represents Coaching, Universities, Professors and Preachers, Higher Wisdom, Written Law of the Land etc. Sagittarius has 2 and half nakshatra which are Mula, Purva-Ashadha and Uttara-Ashadha. Sagittarius' lord is Jupiter.

As I said in introductory article - https://www.astrosaxena.com/NSSignNakshatraCounter , this analysis is not limited to Ascendant Sign or Sun Sign or Moon Sign only but includes any houses in your chart where these zodiac signs are falling, regardless of the fact if there is any planet is there or not. Simple reason is that even empty houses represent an area of our life where we need to find the balance.

Best way to understand this combination of Gemini and Sagittarius is through their respective lords. Gemini is ruled by Mercury and Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter. Mercury is playful Prince and Jupiter is serious Guru. This difference basic nature is their only reason to conflict and their opposite nature is what they both need to learn from.

So, here is my understanding of Gemini-Sagittarius counterparts –

From Gemini to Sagittarius -

Gemini – As discussed, Gemini is ruled by playful and non-serious Mercury. Mercury is Prince in Mythology or Astrology who wants to explore everything but in a playful manner. For him, life is nothing but a big joke or fun game. So, wherever Gemini falls into our chart, we may not be too serious about that area of life. We can take childish decisions in that area of life. Even if we want to learn and collect information related with the house where Gemini falls then also we may not focus on one set of information or knowledge. Our interests may be scattered everywhere. Like, for a person like me who is Scorpio ascendant, Gemini falls into 8th house. So, I can be interested in collecting research oriented information but this interest can be scattered everywhere from occult, mysticism, alien life, surgeries, other planets etc. So, I may not be putting my time and energy in one direction which may result in non-satisfactory results. Also, as Gemini and Mercury both represent childish nature, we may take very childish or immature decisions in the matters of life where Gemini falls into chart and obviously, we may have to suffer because of them.

For guidance, we may again need to look at opposite sign; i.e. Sagittarius.

Sagittarius – It is sign of divine Guru Jupiter. Sagittarius and Jupiter both represent Higher Education, Knowledge and Wisdom etc. This is where we can get guidance for Gemini sign. Gemini’s biggest problem is immaturity & childishness and they can look towards Sagittarius to have some wisdom of Guru to let-go of this childish and immature behavior. Sagittarius represents higher education and Gemini gets the guidance to not to waste on collecting different information throughout life but to focus on one stream of knowledge seriously and put perseverant actions in that stream of knowledge. Also, Sagittarius sign can bring seriousness and maturity to the childish and immature traits of Gemini

From Sagittarius to Gemini -

But then again, extremes of any energy can be difficult to handle. Problem with house where Sagittarius sign falls in our chart is that we can become too serious and too preachy in that area of life that we may not be able to enjoy anything from that area of life. Sagittarius is also sign of different belief systems and religions. In worst case scenario, it can make a person rigid about his belief system. Hence, the person is becoming too serious about his belief system or religion or philosophy he follows. He can also become arrogant about his knowledge, higher education and degrees. In this seriousness, the person is missing on the fact that everything is going to pass-away in this life and we should just enjoy life as it comes.

This is where Gemini-end can help the person to relax a little bit and not to be so serious about life and things in life. Gemini’s non-serious approach towards life is very much necessary to balance the energy of rigid Sagittarius nature. So, Sagittarius may be a very highly educated person but at least one lesson it needs to still learn from Gemini; i.e. to take life non-seriously.

Osho used to narrate small stories and jokes of a fictional character named Mulla Nasruddin. Osho might have narrated 1000s of stories or jokes of Mulla Nasruddin. Osho says that Mulla Nasruddin is a person who takes this life as a gigantic joke and still able to convey his message to people through his humorous wisdom.

Many Gurus have conveyed their message to humanity through Jokes and Sarcasm. As I see, these two are the best examples to understand this Gemini/Sagittarius axis in your chart; i.e. Mulla Nasruddin and Humorous Wisdom.

Conclusion – If I am told to explain Gemini/Sagittarius axis in one sentence then I will again bring Osho here with his quotation – “A little foolishness, enough to enjoy life, & a little wisdom to avoid the errors, that will do”.

Hope this helps. Thanks,
