How to do Birth-Time Rectification?

How to do Birth-Time Rectification?

There was another request to know how we can rectify someone’s birth time if he/she doesn’t know it correctly. Understandably, it is an important topic and I should have written about it before but never came up in mind. So, thanks for shooting this request. So, here we go on the basis of following points –

Importance of Accurate Birth Time.

Moon Chart.

Time Range

Ascendant.

Main Events and Dashas.

Analysing between 2 Ascendants.

Rahu-Ketu.

Saturn.

Ascendant Nakshatra

D-Charts.

Conclusion.

Let’s cover all points one after the other –

Importance of Accurate Birth Time – We need accurate birth time of a person not only to get his right chart but also right dashas. Difference in timing of birth can change dashas little bit. Specially when we draw someone’s chart and see that Ascendant degree is between 0 degree to 3 degree or 27 degree to 30 degree, then always ask for confirmation of birth time from person because in matter of 5-10 minutes, the whole ascendant will change which will change lord of all houses and planetary positions in chart. That’s why, it is of utmost importance that we should have accurate time of birth. But what if someone doesn’t have accurate time of birth?

Moon Chart – Then 1st option we have is to look at Moon Chart of person. As Moon changes its sign in 2 days and 6 hours time, it becomes the next closest chart to look for someone when you don’t have right birth timing and ascendant chart. Actually, this is the reason why Moon Chart got importance in Astrology from Ancient Times. As we didn’t have tools to accurately calculate time in those days, we were dependent on Moon Chart to see the future of person. But Moon Chart has its limitations. You can’t use dashas with Moon Chart as Moon will remain in one sign for 2 days & 6 hours but if we see then child taking birth in Morning goes through a different dasha than child taking birth in evening same day. So, we cant rely on dashas if we only have Moon Chart. Now, predictions will only be based on annual transits of planets in different houses of Moon Chart. Even then, it doesn’t promise any event. It only shows that how your mind (Moon) will react to the different transits. Like, Saturn transiting 4th house from Moon may show mind feeling stress at home or with mother but Saturn transiting 4th house from Ascendant can show real estate matters. So, Moon Chart will only show how your mind will feel during a certain transit. So now, what to do?

Time Range – First of all, person must know a decent and limited time range about his timing of birth. Here decent and limited will be within 3 hours at max, like 3 am to 6 am or 4 pm to 7 pm as the basic time range to look within. As ascendant changes after every 2 hours, Astrologer should be working with 2 ascendants only. Anything more than that will only lead to immense confusion. If person has no idea about his time of birth then Moon Chart is best option for him as I don’t think it is possible to analyse between 12 ascendants and come to a conclusion as to the right time of birth and ascendant. If someone can do it then he/she is genius.

Ascendant – 1st step of deciding the right time of birth is to see which ascendants are getting involved in the time range. Like, if time range is 3 am to 5 am and ascendant is changing from Cancer Ascendant to Leo Ascendant during this time then ask person’s basic nature. If he is more emotional then prima-facie indication is that he is Cancer Ascendant and if he is more aggressive then he can be a Leo Ascendant. But this is just a prima-facie indication and should not be a conclusion. Also, if ascendant degree is close to last degrees or early degrees of a sign then we can’t rely on ascendant. Like, if it is 29/30 degree Cancer or 0/1 degree Leo, then ascendant is in between changing signs. In such cases, person will have traits and characteristics of both the signs. So, we can’t rely on ascendant then.

Main Events and Dashas – After getting the 2 ascendants involved within the time range given, ask at least 5 most important events of person’s life and the timing in which those events happened. If person can give more events then it is great but take those events which had an impact on person’s life and he will never be able to forget those events. It can be good or bad any event. Most common events taken are Date of Marriage/Divorce, Date of Child Birth, Date of 1st job, Date of Foreign Visit/Settlement. If person is willing to share further details of personal life then it is great but take at least 5 events which impacted his life path with such great intensity that he will never be able to forget it. Then check in which dashas those events happened. Note down the dashas.

Analysing between 2 Ascendants – Now, the fun part. You need either printouts of charts with both the ascendants or you should open 2 windows of your software showing one chart each. Then analyse which event was in which dasha and that dasha activated which houses in both charts. So, if marriage happened in July, 2016. You need to see dasha running in July, 2016 and in which of the 2 charts dasha was activating marriage related houses (2nd house, 7th house and 11th house) and planets (Jupiter & Venus). Now, if dasha was itself of Jupiter or Venus, then it can give marriage on its own as it is karaka of marriage. In that case, now we need to check other events and dashas. Like this, we should check all the given events and dashas which caused the events. We need to check for both the ascendants and try to see that for which ascendant, right houses are getting activated as per dashas. It is time consuming and at times confusing, but fun. If I have the month of the event, then I will also check the transit chart of that month and year to confirm the event. Like this, whichever ascendant activates all the right houses for the given event in given dasha, we can have an indication that it is the possible ascendant. That’s why, it is important to take as many events as possible but at least 5 must be there and all 5 should have had a great impact on person’s life.

Rahu-Ketu – Biggest help in deciding right ascendant comes from positions of Rahu-Ketu. As they are our obsession and isolation points, with the change of ascendant, their positions will also change and with that person’s obsession/isolation points. Like, if Rahu is in 10th house and Ketu is in 4th house for Cancer Ascendant then we can say that person is all about gaining fame & career recognition and might be separated from mother or home land. But if it is Leo Ascendant, now Ketu is in 3rd house isolating from younger sibling (either physically, by birth or mentally) and Rahu is in 9th house obsessing about different cultures and philosophies. Like this, if person is ready to tell about his obsessions/isolations of life then Rahu-Ketu are biggest help in deciding the ascendant.

Saturn – Likewise, Saturn will change house with change of ascendant and as Saturn always does its job in whichever condition it is, it shows us the areas of challenge of person. Change of houses will change the challenges of person in this life. For Cancer Ascendant, relation with Mother can be a challenge but for Leo Ascendant, relation with younger sibling or running own business can be a challenge.

Ascendant Nakshatra – But then we are not done as yet. After getting to Ascendant, we need to narrow it down to Ascendant Nakshatra. We have to keep in mind that Ascendant Nakshatra and its lord shows the life pattern of person. So, by seeing the pattern of life of person, we can decide which ascendant nakshatra he should be? In that, stories related with nakshatras, their lord and position of lord in chart give great indications about the right ascendant nakshatra of person. Like, anyone in teaching/counselling work is more probable to have Jupiter ruled nakshatras (Punarvasu, Vishakha & Purva Bhadra) as ascendant nakshatra. But as I said, stories related with nakshatra, its lord and lord’s position all are important in deciding it.

D-Charts – I have seen people using D-charts to further narrow it down but I found it more confusing than helpful. May be I didn’t use the technique correct way but all I want to say here is that at least I have no idea about using D-Charts for rectification of charts. Also, if I rectify the time of someone, I would prefer using D-1 chart only. I would not rely on other D-charts as they change with change of 10-15 mins. So, I personally feel that relying on D-charts in this matter is a big risk.

Conclusion – Like this, after lots of analysis and to & fro calculations on both charts based on events, dashas, houses, transits and planetary positions, we can narrow it down to 10-20 mins time range of birth time. Going further than that can be a risk. Again, it is my ability. If anyone can narrow it down to minute or seconds then bow down to him.

Hope this helps. Please post your comments or queries, if any.
